Deprivation
The Index of Multiple Deprivation (IMD) is the UK’s official measure of relative deprivation, ranking small neighbourhoods across England based on seven domains: income, employment, education, health, crime, housing barriers, and living environment.
The latest update, published in October 2025, reflects major social and economic changes since 2019 and includes insights on child and older people’s income deprivation.
Our Havering IMD 2025 Briefing shows:
- Overall rank broadly unchanged since 2019.
- Gains in education and crime.
- Slight declines in income, employment, and health.
- Childhood income deprivation improving, but older people facing growing challenges.
